Castles
We at times
Look at our hourglass
And long for the time
when the sands filter through
to the other side
where we can start a new chapter of our lives
But take a moment
and ponder the richness
that comes from knowing
that there is no light without darkness
and no pleasure without pain
So don't count each passing moment
as an accumulation of good
but instead, look at the totality of the hour glass
as a measure of our strength
Of our resolve
To remain steadfast
even as the weight of the world is upon us
But perhaps an hourglass
is not a fitting analogy
for the time that passes over us
As we wait for the miracle to come
Instead, lets envision an ocean
With waves lifting and sifting
And crashing and polishing
the rough edges
of each granule of sand
Making order of chaos
Moving mountains with the strength
A compounded force
Until our ship comes to shore
